Dow rises nearly 100 points to another record close, Boeing shares lead the gains; European stocks close mixed as investors take profits into holidays
Stocks climbed higher on Monday, hitting new records, as the year-end rally continues. The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 96.44 points higher to 28,551.53, while the S&P 500 rose 0.1%, or 2.79 points, to 3,224.01 and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.2%, or 20.69 points, to 8,945.65. The three major averages all posted record closes. Shares of Boeing led the gains, jumping 2.9% after the company ousted CEO Dennis Muilenburg amid the 737 Max crisis.
Investors cheered the news that China will cut import tariffs on a wide range of goods. China’s finance ministry announced starting January 1, it will lower import tariffs on over 850 products
The pan-European Stoxx 600 hovered around the flatline by mid-afternoon, with autos falling 0.6% and bank stocks down 0.7% to lead losses while healthcare stocks added 0.2%.

Prices rise two percent in first three quarters
Year on year prices rose by two percent on the average in the January-September 2019 period, the Serbian Statistics Office said on Friday. The biggest overall rise in consumer prices in that period were for unprocessed food and in the services industry, the Statistics Office said in its latest quarterly report. The biggest rises were in the prices of food, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and tobacco.

Third quarter unemployment rate lower in Serbia
Serbia’s unemployment rate was lower in the third quarter than in the second quarter of 2019, the Republic Statistics Office said on Friday. A total of some 2.9 million people were employed in the third quarter of the year and 308,400 over the age of 15 were registered as unemployed, the Statistics Office said in its quarterly report. The unemployment rate in the third quarter stood at 9.5 percent compared to 10.3 percent in the second quarter. The number of people registered as unemployed dropped by 25,600 in that period.

Average monthly salary higher in third quarter
The average monthly salary in Serbia in the third quarter of 2019 stood at 54,285 Dinars (1 Dinar – 118 Euro), the Republic Statistics Office said on Friday. According to the latest data released by the Statistics Office, that is 10.9 percent nominally higher than the same period a year earlier and 9.5 percent in real terms. The average monthly salary was also lower by 0.5 percent nominally than in the second quarter of 2019 and 0.2 higher in real terms.
