European markets close flat with Wall Street closed; AstraZeneca shares edge lower; BELELX15 up 0.19%
US markets were closed, while European stocks closed little changed on Thursday as investors paused for breath after a global rally in recent sessions. The Europe Stoxx 600 index ended 0.03% lower provisionally.
Shares of AstraZeneca slipped 0.6% as questions are raised over the way Astrazeneca and Oxford University tested their coronavirus vaccine, with the head of the White House’s vaccine task force voicing doubts about trial data and the drug’s efficacy rate.
Meanwhile, Remy Cointreau’s shares sank 1.8% lower after the French drinks maker reported a 23% fall in first-half operating profit. It forecast real recovery in the second half, driven by a rebound in demand from the U.S. and China.
BELEX15 was added only minor 0.19% as only NIS saw material change of +0.88%. The most active was Tehnogas even though only with RSD 280ths traded. One of its major clients, Zijin Copper d.o.o has filed a request to the Ministry of Environmental Protection for determining the scope and the content of the Study of the assessment of the impact of the project of the increase of the capacity of the copper smelter in Bor. Several days ago, the managing director of Zijin, Jian Ximing, announced that the Chinese company planned to invest USD 1.26 billion in Serbia.
