Dow jumps 350 points to start week, S&P 500 inches closer to all-time high; European markets close slightly higher as investors digest U.S. stimulus hopes; banks rise 2%; BELEX15 up 0.74%; Value of construction works in Serbia drops in second quarter 
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied on Monday as gains in economically sensitive stocks offset losses from mega-cap tech stocks like Microsoft. The 30-stock Dow advanced 357.96 points to 27,791.44, a gain of 1.3%. Boeing and Dow Inc. were among the best-performing stocks in the blue-chip index, rising more than 5% each. Caterpillar, considered to be a bellwether for the global economy, also climbed more than 5%. JPMorgan Chase added 1.2%. 
Meanwhile, the S&P 500 climbed 0.27% to finish at 3,360.47 as both the energy and industrials sectors rose more than 2.4% as cyclical stocks led the major indexes higher on the week’s first day of trading. Monday’s session was the S&P 500′s seventh straight day of gains. The advance left the S&P 500 less than 1% away from a record high. 
Monday’s moves came after President Donald Trump signed several executive orders over the weekend aimed at extending coronavirus relief. 


European stocks ended the day cautiously higher on Monday, brushing off tensions between the U.S. and China that hit technology stocks. The pan-European Stoxx 600 pared some of its earlier gains to provisionally close up 0.2%. Banks added almost 2% to lead gains on the back of some positive data from China which bolstered hopes of economic recovery, while tech stocks dropped 1.6% amid a fraying of relations between Washington and Beijing.

 
BELEX15 added 0.74%, as Komercijana Banka advanced 2.1%, while Belgrade Airport gained 1.8%. The most active names were Komercijana, NIS and Philip Morris, with RSD 1.1-1.6m range traded, each. Fintel, wind energy provider announced its 2Q/6M report for incoming Friday, 14th August. 
According to the data collected in the second quarter of 2020, value of construction works done on the territory of the Republic of Serbia decreased by 2.6% at current prices, while, at constant prices, the decrease amounted to 0.8% relative to the second quarter of 2019, announced the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.
