Stocks hit a record, but then give up gains and end the day little changed; Europe markets close lower on trade pessimism in Beijing
Stocks posted fresh records on Monday before closing little changed as investors digested mixed signals around U.S.-China trade talks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day up just 31.33 points, or 0.1% at 28,036.22. The S&P 500 advanced 0.05% to 3,122.03 while the Nasdaq Composite closed 0.1% higher at 8,549.94. Disney was the best-performing Dow stock, rising 2%. Real estate and consumer staples both gained at least 0.6% to lead the S&P 500 higher.
In corporate news, Coty shares gained more than 2% after the company announced it took a 51% stake in Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Jenner’s makeup company.
European stocks closed lower on Monday after a Chinese government source told CNBC that the mood in Beijing over a trade deal is pessimistic. The pan-European Stoxx 600 ended the session 0.1% lower, with the China-exposed autos sector tumbling 2.3% while utilities bucked the trend to add almost 1%.
Volkswagen stock fell 4.4% after cutting its medium-term outlook for operating profit and sales.

Construction driving economic growth, number of building permits 27% up
A total 2,237 building permits were issued in Serbia in September 2019, which was a 27 pct increase compared to September last year, the national statistical office RZS says. The index of the anticipated value of works in September 2019 increased by 118.1 pct relative to September 2018, it said. Observed by type of construction, in September 2019, 80.8 pct of the permits related to buildings and 19.2 pct to civil engineering.

Construction of Morava Corridor expected to start in summer 2020
Although it was announced this summer that the construction the Preljina-Pojate highway, that is, the Morava Corridor, might start in the autumn, another deadline has now been announced. Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said during her visit to Nis that the construction of this important traffic route would begin in the second half of 2020. The Morava Corrdior will connect an area with a populace of half a million: Cacak, Kraljevo, Vrnjacka Banja, Trstenik, Krusevac, Stalac and Cicevac. Around EUR 800 million will be put into its construction.

JESV: Jedinstvo reported improved sales&net profit for 9M 2019
Construction&engeenering company, Jedinstvo Sevojno, reported RSD 3.3bn in its 9M 20198 sales, up 37%, on higher volume of executed jobs. The company operating profit for the period arrived at RSD 71.7m, which is much better versus RSD 35m loss from a year ago. These are all non-consolidated figures. Net line was positive at RSD 106m, up 73% y/y, on higher sales and operating profit.
